An Academic Advisor must review and approve your petition to graduate. You may petition to graduate as soon as you are enrolled for your final classes. You must petition by the deadline posted for each semester to have your degree awarded in that term. Deadlines are within the first few weeks of each term.
All transfer coursework must be officially transferred to count towards graduation; including other Maricopa Colleges.
Meet with an advisor two semesters prior to your intended graduation date to make sure all of your coursework is in order. For example if you plan to graduate in May you should meet with an advisor prior to starting classes in August, 10 months prior to your graduation date, to check your progress. Then, you would petition to graduate as soon as you are registered for the spring semester classes.
SCC holds a commencement ceremony each May and graduates from the summer, fall and spring terms are invited to participate.
