Teaching is my passion! I don't think there is anything more thrilling than to help someone learn and grow. I have been in education for over forty years. I hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Administration and Leadership, a Master of Education in Special Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I have taught in grades 3 through seniors in high school, and undergraduate and graduate students in college. I spent more than twenty years as a school and district-level administrator and served as a principal for elementary and middle school and as an assistant superintendent for elementary education in Scottsdale Unified District. I have taught education courses at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. For the past decade I have been teaching education courses at Scottsdale Community College. I also serve as the Program Director for Teacher Certification and direct the Scottsdale Teacher Education Partnership (STEP) post-baccalaureate teacher certification program.
My other passions besides teaching include bicycling, hiking, organic gardening and cooking. I enjoy spending time with my friends and get great joy from my two grandsons, Sam and Jack who are in kindergarten and second grade. I am truly blessed with a wonderful life!
