Art Degrees

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Graphic Design: Visual Communication is designed for students who plan to enter the field of Design. Students will receive hands-on training in fine art foundations, design principles, and in computer-generated design including layout, illustrations, typeface, color principles, photographic manipulation, and prepress ready graphic design.

The Associate in Arts degree is designed for students planning to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. In general, the components of the degree meet requirements for majors in the Liberal Arts or programs of study other than business or science. Generally, the degree will transfer as a block without loss of credit to Arizona’s public universities and other institutions with district-wide articulation agreements.

The Associate in Arts, Fine Arts - Art degree is designed for students planning to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. In general, the components of the degree meet requirements for majors in the Fine Arts. The degree is designed to prepare students to meet selective admission criteria for programs such as the Bachelor of Fine Arts, which may require a portfolio or performance requirement. The semester credits used to satisfy the MCCCD Associate in Arts, Fine Arts - Art degree may apply to university graduation requirements of the university major for which the degree is designed.
