Vortex Second in Southwest Division

This year, Vortex placed 2nd in the Southwest Division (for nearly 16 years, Vortex has consistently placed First, Second, or Third). The following students won this year as well (they competed with every writer in every literary magazine in the Southwest Division!).
Asmarrah Lila Eslynne Bedford's "Latch Key" placed 2nd in Poetry
Asmarrah Lila Eslynne Bedford's "The Last Desert Roadhouse" placed 1st in Short Story
Matthew Hoober's "A Centerfold in Marble" placed 1st in Creative Nonfiction
Anazia Potee's "Side Show" placed 1st in Script Writing

2016 also marks the most individual student awards for Vortex to date!
