Overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology, and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers. Use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Includes uses of application software and the Internet for efficient and effective problem solving. Exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Prerequisites: None.
CIS105 in-person classes will require additional computer lab time. In addition to surveying computer concepts, the class includes hands-on experience with Windows 7, Word 2013, Excel 2013, PowerPoint 2013, and Access 2013 for Windows, and Visual Basic for Applications.
PLEASE NOTE: CIS 105 requires an online subscription at an additional cost of approximately $85 and will require additional computer time per week. Details will be provided on the first day of class.

ONLINE 10-WEEK CLASS: Conducted via the Internet and designed for highly motivated, computer-literate, self-directed students. This class will require in-person testing on the SCC campus.
