SCC2020 Project Management Team Meeting Summaries

The Project Management Team has been meeting over the summer to establish the overall processes work teams will use to define their work product (team charter), report results (meeting minutes template), and define the pathway recommendations will take. This meeting helped to fine-tune the documents these teams will use and define potential pitfalls once recommendations start to flow up to college leadership. Dr. Gehler will appoint a replacement for one of the Goal 2 co-leaders.

The Project Management Team has been meeting over the summer to establish the overall processes work teams will use to define their work product (team charter), report results (meeting minutes template), and define the pathway recommendations will take. In this meeting the Team discussed the need for a statement of direction to help the Goal Teams prioritize objectives. Dr. Gehler will develop that statement. The Team also fleshed out the requirements for a recommendation template which Dustin will finalize.

Work of the Project Management Team is beginning to shift from establishing processes for work teams to developing action plans for implementation. In this meeting the Team discussed how the Unit Improvement Plans (UIP) will be rolled out to the College this fall. Future meetings will discuss the rollout of the Noel Levitz Employee Engagement survey. Discussion continued on how to prioritize objectives and recommendations as they begin to emerge from the work teams.

In this meeting Dr. Gehler presented a draft of a document that will help guide the priorities of the Goal Teams. The Team continued discussion on how the Unit Improvement Plans (UIP) will be rolled out to the College this fall, and the formation of the Employee Engagement Council was announced. This Council will serve as the Work Team for several of the Goal 3 objectives. Discussion continued on how to prioritize objectives and recommendations as they begin to emerge from the work teams. Future meetings will discuss the rollout of the Noel Levitz Employee Engagement survey.

Although the work of the Project Management Team has shifted to developing action plans for implementation, the group will not lose sight of its chartered purpose for oversight and communication. To that end, the Team has restructured its meeting format to reflect an oversight role, and plans for a College Dashboard to communicate progress are being developed. The Team discussed progress on the UIP project and the rollout of the Noel Levitz Employee Engagement survey. Future meetings will finalize details of the Dashboard Project, including the use of data from the UIPs and Noel Levitz survey.

October 25, 2011

Discussion in this meeting revolved around a document that defines SCC’s character and priorities. This document will have several uses, including guidance for strategic planning. Details of data needed for the College Dashboard were discussed, as well as plans to integrate SCC2020 activities into the new requirements for accreditation. Future meetings will finalize details of the Dashboard Project, including the use of data from the UIPs and Noel Levitz survey.
